F1 Rocks has announced that Jamiroquai will headline the forthcoming event at the Stadio Brianteo Monza on 9th September.
Formed in 1992, the British jazz funk and acid jazz band has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, received 13 Brit Awards nominations and won a coveted Grammy Award in 1997.
The band's international breakthrough came in 1996 when their third album 'Travelling Without Moving' was released, yielding two major hits - 'Virtual Insanity' and 'Cosmic Girl''.
Jamiroquai's flamboyant frontman Jay Kay, whose self styled 'Buffalo Man' image has become synonymous with the band is a keen motorsport fan and avid collector of vintage sports cars. "I am thrilled to be playing F1 Rocks in Milan at the Italian Formula 1 grand prix this September. It's gonna be a great weekend. Live music and the F1 circus, all happening in Monza the home of Ferrari... it doesn't get any better. It was made for us and about time someone put all these pieces together."
Their most recent offering, 'Rock Dust Light Star' was released in November 2010 to critical acclaim.
Robert Montague, of F1 Rocks commented: "It's great to be back in Milan after last year's successful F1 Rocks event. I have no doubt that Jamiroquai's show in front of music and motorsport fans alike will be fantastic and with F1 Rocks the Afterparty joining us once again will make for another great weekend of F1 Rocks and Formula 1"
