Mark Blundell will make his debut as a race steward when he joins Paul Gutjahr and Radovan Novak in Barcelona for this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix.
Blundell has more than 30 years' racing experience including Champ Cars and Sportscars, participated in 61 Grands Prix between 1991 and 1995, with McLaren, Tyrrell, Ligier and Brabham, scoring 32 points and finishing on the podium three times.
In Sportscars, he was on pole position for the 1990 Le Mans 24 Hours race, and won the event in 1992. He has also won three Champ Car races.
He quit racing in 2003 to concentrate on his new found role as TV commentator and driver manager, but returned to Sportscar racing in 2010 finishing ninth in the Spa 24 Hours and fourth in the Daytona 24 Hours. This year he plans to take part in the 24-hour races at the Nurburgring and Spa.
