Force India reserve Nico Hulkenberg has become the first driver to fall victim of the FIA stewards in 2011. Replacing Paul Di Resta in the opening practice session, the German was caught driving 2.5 kph above the pit lane speed limit.
Perhaps it was over enthusiasm at the thought of being back in a Formula One car having lost his drive with Williams at the end of last season that triggered a slow trigger finger on the pit lane limiter.
The pole-sitter from last seasons Brazilian Grand Prix, Hulkenberg paid for his impetuosity, stewards slapping him with a 600 euro fine.
