World champion Sebastian Vettel has joked that he would pay for Fernando Alonso to take a year's holiday in order to take the Spaniard's seat at Ferrari.
For as long as anyone can remember, Vettel, just like all the top drivers, has been linked with the legendary Maranello outfit. However, playing the media at its own game, the German, who is known for his wicked sense of humour told Gazzetta dello Sport: "I'm happy at Red Bull but I dream of Ferrari.
"I would pay a year's holiday to Alonso to have the red car," he added.
Although he famously scored his first ever F1 win at Monza, in a Toro Rosso, Vettel admts that there is nothing quite like winning at the legendary Italian track in a Ferrari.
"I would like a podium at Monza with Ferrari," he La Stampa. "Despite being at Red Bull there are lots of Italians supporting me."
