Four days after the horrific accident that necessitated a seven hour operation, Robert Kubica has been transferred from intensive care to the trauma ward at the Santa Corona Hospital (Pietra Ligure).
It is understood that surgeons at the hospital are so pleased with his progress that they feel he will be able to undergo further surgery on his leg and shoulder on Friday.
As testing got underway in Jerez today, teams and drivers sent their messages of support to the Pole, his Lotus Renault GP teammate Vitaly Petrov sporting the message "Szybkiego powrotu do zdrowia Robert" (Get Well Soon Robert) on the engine cover of his car.
