Robert Kubica's manager Daniele Morelli has told reporters that surgeons at the Santa Corona Hospital in Pietra Ligure are battling to save the Pole's right hand following his accident in the Ronde di Andorra Rally earlier today.
A team of surgeons, including hand specialist Igor Rossello, are currently working on the Lotus Renault GP driver who has incurred multiple fractures to his right leg, arm and hand.
It is understood that earlier talk of amputation was premature however, there is serious concern as to the functionality in the driver's hand.
"Robert is very strong and he will do it," Morelli told reporters outside the hospital.
