Having been reprimanded for a tyre mix up during last week's German GP, Force India has been fined for another tyre irregularity during this morning's opening practice session.
In Germany, the Silverstone team was reprimanded for a mistake early in the race when its two drivers were given tyres designated for the other. Tonio Liuzzi and Adrian Sutil were forced to pit after colliding on the opening lap of the race. However, in the subsequent confusion, Sutil was fitted with one of Liuzzi's super-soft tyres along with three hards of his own, while the Italian returned to the race with three super-softs and one hard.
The race stewards subsequently determined a breach of Article 25.4 of the 2010 Formula Sporting Regulations and handed the Silverstone based outfit a reprimand.
In this morning's opening session, Paul di Resta used one set of prime tyres allocated for Liuzzi's use during P3, qualifying and Sunday's race, in contradiction of Article 25.4 a) of the 2010 FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.
The team was subsequently fined 5,000 euros.
