Vladimir Arabadzhiev and Josef Kral have both been handed ten position grid penalties for tomorrow's sprint race by the race stewards for causing collisions on the opening lap of this afternoon's feature race in Valencia.
Nine drivers in total were out on the first lap - Kral stopped along with Giacomo Ricci, Luiz Razia, Oliver Turvey, Ho-Pin Tung, Jerome d'Ambrosio, Rodolfo Gonzalez and Max Chilton, while Johnny Cecotto hit the wall on his own, with another two requiring work in the pits before they were able to continue the race - prompting a safety car and post race review by the stewards.
Along with the penalties above, Arabadzhiev's team Scuderia Coloni were handed a fine for releasing teammate Alberto Valerio with the rear jack still attached to his car following the Brazilian's pitstop.
