British outfit Carlin has dismissed internet reports linking them with an F1 entry in 2011.
A brief statement issued this afternoon reads:
British F3 champions Carlin have no plans to enter the 2011 Formula 1 World Championship contrary to reports in the international media today. The Hampshire based squad, who currently lead the British F3 and Formula Renault 3.5 championships, as well as competing in the inaugural GP3 Series, have not submitted an application to be part of the Formula 1 grid in 2011.
Carlin's Racing Director Trevor Carlin said: "While F1 may be a long-term goal for the team, we have not submitted an application for the 2011 season, nor are we in any position to do so. At the moment we are 100 per cent focused on our current programmes and continue to put all our efforts into winning championships and races in the junior categories."
