NEWS STORY
It is with a heavy heart that Pitpass announces and it can no longer report on Lewis Hamilton without showing some degree of bias.
On Tuesday morning, we were alerted to comments made by Lewis Hamilton, which, in all honesty, are too outrageous for us to repeat here.
We immediately contacted the Matt Bishop, Group Head of Communications & Public Relations at McLaren Marketing, firstly to confirm whether Mr Hamilton's comments were true and subsequently to express our displeasure.
Over the years we have followed Mr Hamilton's career with great interest and were delighted to see him enter F1 with such enormous success.
During a difficult debut season, especially in terms of the in-house problems, we tried to be fair, doing our best to remain impartial. We now feel that we were wrong, we should have thrown our weight behind Fernando Alonso.
We will continue to report on Mr Hamilton's progress in the 2010 season and beyond, however, should a McLaren mechanic accidentally leave a cooling cover on his sidepod, having enjoyed a good snigger we would be more than happy to stand said mechanic a beer or two.
Over the years we have seen more that our fair share of scandals, Spygate, Spankgate, Liegate, Crashgate, however, our editor - who hails from Southgate - feels that Mr Hamilton has crossed the boundary in terms of decency and good taste.
As stated earlier, we cannot bring ourselves to repeat the comment made by Mr Hamilton - seen here, quite rightly, hanging his head in shame - that has so offended us, however, those with a strong stomach can find the outrageous words here, third paragraph.
Go Jenson!!!
