Our good friends at Amalgam have a number of exciting new models in the pipeline, including the fabulous Gulf Porsche 917 and the Ferrari 156 Sharknose. However, while we await those two beauties, here's another classic that is now available.
Regarded by many as the most beautiful car ever created, the 250 Testa Rossa is without doubt one of the most iconic models built by Ferrari in their long and rich history. It is also one of the most valuable, an example sold for a record €9 million euros at auction in Maranello last year.
The list of drivers of this car reads like a hall of fame of the late 1950s - Phil Hill, Dan Gurney, Peter Collins, Cliff Allison, Olivier Gendebien and Paul Frere, to name just a few.
This 1:8 scale limited edition (only 99 will be made available) is deeply detailed and shows the car exactly as it was driven to victory by Phil Hill and Peter Collins at Sebring in 1958.
This sublime 1:8 Scale Model is just one of many new releases planned for 2010, due imminently is the much anticipated Ferrari 599 GTO, a car which represents a new pinnacle of sports car performance while carrying on Ferrari's historic GTO name.
Space is already being prepared in the Pitpass offices for the Porsche 917 - in the eyes of editor Balfe one of the greatest racing cars ever built - the machine in which Pedro Rodriguez gave one of the greatest performances in the history of motor sport.
For fans of Formula One, this year's round up of F1 models from Amalgam will be rolling out in the next 6 weeks, with the Ferrari F10, the McLaren MP4-25 and the Mercedes MGP W01 all coming out in 1:8 scale. To compliment these there will of course be the usual 1:4 scale Steering Wheels, 1:12 scale Nose Cones and Full Size Steering Wheel Replicas.
