According to reports in the German media, the Korean Grand Prix, scheduled to take place on 24 October, may have to be postponed until 2011 as a result of delays in the construction of the Korean Auto Valley circuit.
The German magazine Focus, claims that work on the circuit has been delayed by a number of unspecified problems, with designer Herman Tilke admitting that the track may not be finished in time. Usually, Tilke designs and builds the tracks, however, in this case construction is being carried out by local companies.
"For the first time I believe that a (Tilke) circuit is not going to be ready in time," the German is quoted as saying.
Earlier this year, Yung Cho Chung, CEO of promoter Korea Auto Valley Operation, claimed that work on the track and its facilities was on target and that the venue should be completed by June.
