Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali has joked that he would be delighted for Melbourne and every other race this season to be a repeat of the procession in Bahrain that saw Fernando Alonso lead home a 1-2 for the Maranello outfit.
With the order of the leading ten finishers barely changed from the first ten drivers to emerge from the very first corner of the race, the season opener was widely dismissed as a boring procession, with fans, the media, drivers and team bosses all agreeing that the event was a major let down.
However, speaking ahead of this weekend's race in Australia, Domenicali said he was perfectly happy with the desert race.
"I would be perfectly happy with that if it means the Scuderia will finish first and second in every race!" he joked.
However, in response to those that are calling for changes to the regulations in an attempt to spice up the action, he added: "It is much too early to jump to conclusions and we should not react in an emotional way. We must wait and see how the races evolve throughout the season and then, the subject can be studied calmly, based on sufficient evidence."
