Trident Racing is ready to get back on-track for the upcoming GP2 Series, and joining the pack at Paul Ricard for the first collective test of 2010, has announced Johnny Cecotto as driver for the whole season.
Johnny, son of famed world motorbike champion and race car driver Johnny Alberto Cecotto, has already made his debut for the team at Abu Dhabi, in the first round of the last GP2 Asia Series, in order to get a grip with the team and be ready to step up in 2010.
"I'm really proud to have Johnny Cecotto in the team" told Maurizio Salvadori "he's very young but also extremely talented. We already worked together, and the respective feeling has been great, so I'm looking forward with confidence to the 2010 season. I'm sure we'll be able to show our full potential, also thanks to Johnny's support"
Johnny Cecotto: "I'm extremely happy to be back into the GP2 paddock with Trident Racing, as I have already worked with them and scored good results too. The upcoming season will be really demanding yet decisive for me, and I will do all I can to get the best possible results with the whole team"
Talks are currently in place to fill the second team's seat, and Adrian Zaugg is among the leading candidates. The South African is set to be fielded at Le Castellet.
