Carlin is gearing up for the first ever GP3 test this week. The current British F3 champions will join nine other teams at Paul Ricard for the inaugural test on Thursday and Friday. Carlin will test with experienced racers to gain as much information as possible about the new GP3 machine and showcase the winning formula that has put Carlin at the forefront of Formula 3 racing over the last 10 years.

Carlin's current British F3 racer Adriano Buzaid flies to Paul Ricard straight from a Formula 3 test in the UK to help his team build data on the GP3 car. Buzaid will be joined by 2009 Carlin driver and British F3 race winner Max Chilton who now races in GP2. Chilton's experience of the Paul Ricard track will assist the Carlin squad get up to speed.

Also joining Carlin at Paul Ricard will be Brazilian racer Lucas Foresti who is competing in the British F3 Series this season. 17 year-old Foresti will use the test to gain more experience and test mileage while also supplying Carlin with essential feedback.

Carlin race director Trevor Carlin commented, "We know from previous experience how difficult it can be running a new car for the first time and the importance of learning as much as possible very quickly. The teams that gain the most information in pre-season testing will be the teams that lead in the early stages of the championship so we're taking this first test very seriously.

"We're employing some very experienced drivers to give us as much feedback and direction as possible. Potential teething problems aside, we will be in great shape to offer drivers a very competitive package by the end of the test on Friday. We are approaching this new championship with the same vigour that has seen us become one of the top single seater teams in junior motorsport - to help raise the F1 stars of tomorrow through our GP3 team. I am very much looking forward to seeing the new cars out on track first hand at Paul Ricard and meeting with our potential new drivers for the inaugural season."
