A change of attitude from Stefan GP

Having previously said that "somebody should be in trouble" for the selection process which picked the three new teams to enter F1 this season, Stefan GP now appears to have had a change of heart.

Yesterday, the Serbian hopefuls hit out at the FIA as - with two weeks before the season gets underway - there remains doubt and confusion as to who exactly will and who won't be on the grid in Bahrain and beyond.

Eleven of the teams are settled, however, while Campos Meta appears to have been saved there remains total confusion as to what's happening with US F1.

In the eyes of Stefan GP however, it is easy to see where the blame lies, after all, this is the team that made an official complaint to the European Commission regarding the original selection process last summer.

Yesterday, while describing US F1 as the "dreamers from USA" and claiming that the American outfit is "weakening F1" with its dream of a "perfect world and fairytales about success", the Serbian team also took a swipe at the FIA.

"If case we don't receive the chance to compete in Bahrain, and also when some of the teams fail to show up, somebody should be in a trouble explaining what is happen to all of us," it proclaimed in a statement which has since been removed from its website.

Twenty-four hours later, and clearly realising that if you wish to enter F1 it is best not to further p*** off the governing body - having already taken it to the European Commission - Stefan GP has issued the following:

"SGP would like to re-confirm its desire and, importantly, its ability to compete in the whole of the FIA 2010 Formula One World Championship.

It recognises that this can only happen with the consent of the FIA and the FOM, but has faith that the Formula One 'family' will make the correct decision in the end.

There will be no more press releases on this subject and we look forward to being allowed to show everyone our team in Bahrain."
