Speaking at Ferrari's annual pre-season media event in Madonna di Campiglio, the team boos Stefano Domenicali has said that reliability will be the key factor this season.
"I believe the prospects are good," he told the assembled members of the media. "Despite last season, which was difficult for a lot of reasons, we have consolidated for the future. The number one objective is to be reliable.
"We hope we have resolved the problems," he continued. "So, let's not talk about worries, we'll see where we are but let's not panic. The group that has built the car has been the same for many years. Winning immediately would be better but let's stay calm if it doesn't happen."
Having earlier confirmed that his team's contender will be unveiled at Fiorano on January 28 and begin testing just four days later at Valencia, Domenicali was keen to play down hopes that the new car will be quick straight out of the box.
"I don't think by the first test but maybe by the last test we'll see how competitive we will be," he said. "We will be competitive, yes, but winning, we will see."
