The general manager of strategic planning for the circuit due to host South Korea's inaugural Grand Prix next season says that work is on target and should be complete by July.
Just one day before the FIA reveals the official 2010 calendar, Kevin Lee, told reporters at the Motorsport Business Forum in Monaco that: "It is totally on plan".
The Korea Auto Valley Operation (KAVO) is building the 3.4 mile track on the coast of the southwestern region of the South Cholla province around 200 miles from the capital Seoul. On the provisional calendar released recently the inaugural event was scheduled for October 17.
"We have a plan to finish the whole construction work at the circuit on July 5," said Lee, "and up until now it is roughly 60 percent done. We work together with other people, Hermann Tilke is our engineering consultant, and they are very happy with the progress of the construction at the circuit. We are on schedule for next year."
Although next year's race is due to take place in daylight, Lee said that in a few years time the organizers might consider a night race.
