NEWS STORY
Our good friends at Amalgam have just issued their latest masterpiece, a 1:8 scale model of the Ferrari F60 as raced to victory at Spa Francorchamps.
We've said it before and we'll say it again, to describe Amalgam's 1:8 scale cars as models is an understatement, however, rather than listen to us, how about we let Dave Holmes explain, Dave being the winner of our recent competition in which he won a 1:8 scale model of Jenson Button's Brawn BGP 001.
"The model arrived in very short order and I opened it with great excitement," says Dave. "I was not disappointed, the packaging revealed the name of the person who built the model and the paperwork identified it as copy 22 in a run of 99.
"When it finally emerged from the substantial wrapping it took my breath away, the detail was astounding. It is just as if they have taken a full sized car and shrunk it, option tyres adorn the wheels, sensors and telemetry aerials sprout from the bodywork.
"I have many limited editions as part of my collection," he added, "but nothing comes close to this, if you can afford one and there any left buy one quickly before they disappear."
The F60 is a limited edition, highly detailed, exact replica of the car as raced to victory by Kimi Raikkonen at Spa Francorchamps, possibly the 2007 World Champion's last ever F1 win considering he is to sit-out the 2010 season.
