The FIA's International Court of Appeal will hear Renault's appeal against its ban from the European Grand Prix on August 17.
The French team was suspended from the Valencia event after a wheel fell from Fernando Alonso's car shortly after his pit stop during last weekend's Hungarian GP. The incident came at a time when the sport was already in the spotlight following Felipe Massa's accident just 24 hours earlier and another incident one week earlier which saw F2 driver Henry Surtees lose his life after being hit by a wheel at Brands Hatch.
Organizers of the Valencia event have called for a re-think on the ban claiming that it unfairly penalises Fernando Alonso and his fans at what is the Spaniard's (second) home race.
The International Court of Appeal is expected to announce its decision on Tuesday August 18.
