The Race Stewards at the Nurburgring have opted to take no action following the incident involving Kimi Raikkonen and Adrian Sutil this afternoon, declaring it a "racing accident".

Following the German's pit stop on the 27th lap, he rejoined the race just ahead of the Ferrari driver. As the two battled for track position they clashed, the Force India driver incurring damage to his front wing that necessitated an immediate return to the pits. The extra stop ended any hope of the German scoring the Milton Keynes outfit's first points, the 26-year-old having run as high as second at one stage.

"The incident with Sutil?" said Raikkonen after the Stewards' investigation. "These things happen in racing, we spoke to one another and I think that he also sees it that way, as indeed did the Stewards."

"When I went out of the pit lane I saw Kimi coming on the outside of the corner and I just tried to hold my line," said Sutil, "but he went to the outside and I touched him and lost part of my front wing."

Ironically, at last year's Monaco GP, when, once again, Sutil appeared destined for a points finish, he was eliminated after being clouted from behind by Raikkonen who lost control of his Ferrari as he exited the Tunnel.
