With almost two weeks to go before the FIA announces who has, and, more importantly, who hasn't, secured a spot on the 2010 grid, details of another 'F1 wannabe' have emerged.
In the wake of USGPE, Lola, Prodrive and Litespeed, it has been revealed that Alex Wurz is hoping to secure a place on the 2010 grid with Team Superfund, with backing from Austrian businessman Christian Baha.
The team, which, like most of the other hopefuls, intends to use Cosworth engines, is understood to have lodged its entry in time for last Friday's deadline.
Wurz, a former Le Mans winner who raced in F1 for Benetton, McLaren and Williams before becoming a highly respected test driver, most recently with Honda, has admitted that Team Superfund's bid is based on the FIA's original proposal for a £40m budget cap.
