There is no doubt that Sebastian Vettel is one of the hottest talents on the F1 grid at present, and surely on the shopping list of several of the bigger teams in the pitlane.
As the German prepares for his second full season of F1, however, Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz has said that should his team be unable to provide the equipment to allow the youngster to flourish it will not tie him down to a long term contract that might effectively ruin his carrer.
"Vettel is undoubtedly one of the biggest talents," Mateschitz told Deutsche Presse-Agentur. "We expect 100 per cent commitment with all that he has to offer. For his age he is incredibly smart, clever and will-powered. We expect to be able to provide him with a car with which he should be able to win."
However, the Austrian was quick to add: "We have a two-year contract with him. If we are not in a position to give him a competitive car, we will certainly not stand in his way as he attempts to win the world championship."
