While the weather has caused continued problems during pre-season testing, it seemed safe to say that BMW, Ferrari and Toyota's trip to Bahrain would not be similarly affected.
However, a sandstorm which hit the circuit shortly after today's session got underway, has left the drivers and team members kicking their heels in the hope that things will improve later in the day.
With the three drivers on duty - Massa, Kubica and Glock - having completed 53 laps between them, it is the Ferrari driver who currently tops the timesheets with a 1:33.639.
According to Ferrari, the weather forecast for the rest of the day is not very encouraging: the wind might not stop and even if it does, the track still has to be cleaned. Consequently, there is the risk that the cars might not get back on track today.
