Following his team's announcement that its 2009 contender will make its track debut at Jerez on February 9, Red Bull driver Mark Webber has said he is determined to be fully fit and on duty.
The Australian broke his right leg whilst participating in his annual charity endurance event in November, colliding with a car while cycling close to the Tasmanian capital of Hobart.
The popular Australian has set himself a target of being able to throw away his crutches by the third week in January, and is already carrying out a rigorous training programme in order to meet his deadline, including swimming and gym work.
"I want to be testing at the beginning of February," Webber told German's Auto Motor und Sport. "However, I can't push it too much because the swelling will come back."
Referring to his injury, he added: "It could have been much worse. I was lucky it was the right leg, which is not working too hard in the car. The most important thing is that I get the feeling back."
