While it has yet to be officially confirmed by A1GP organizers, it appears that this year's A1GP season will conclude in Brazil at the legendary Interlagos circuit.
The visit to Brazil was revealed when the FIA revealed the full international race calendar for 2009 on Monday, and according to sources has caused a certain amount of frustration within the A1GP organization.
With the first round of the fourth series - due to take place at Mugello in September 2008 - cancelled, due to the shortage of chassis, the addition of Interlagos brings the series back up to ten events. However, the races at Interlagos, scheduled for May 17, mean that Brands Hatch will now host the penultimate race of the season, as opposed to the finale.
A1GP has never visited Brazil before and its inclusion will surely be welcomed by local fans despite their country's poor performance in the last couple of seasons.
While the FIA let the cat out of the bag, A1GP organizers and even members of the Team Brazil management are remaining tight-lipped, though official confirmation is expected in the next 48 hours.
