Red Bull has confirmed that its 2009 contender, the RB5, will make its track debut on February 5 at Jerez.
"Our strategic plan has always been to take full advantage of the later start to the 2009 season and we are using the time to ensure we have optimised the car as much as possible, within the regulation changes, to start on the grid in Melbourne," said team boss Christian Horner.
The Austrian owned team will be looking for an improvement this season. While the RB4 was successful in the hands of Toro Rosso, particularly with regards Sebastian Vettel, who took his Ferrari powered version to victory at Monza, the works cars finished seventh in the Constructors' Championship, ten points behind Faenza-based sister team and only three points ahead of Williams.
