Track conditions were still wet and difficult this afternoon with heavy rain falling towards the end of the session.
Consequently, the drivers had very little time to set their fastest lap and once again it was Kamui Kobayashi, at the wheel of the DAMS car, who was the most competitive, posting a best time of 1:15.434, ahead of rookie Will Brat (DPR), who posted a 1:15.749.
Another impressive rookie was Koudai Tsukakoshi (Campos), the Japanese driver setting the third fastest time of the day ahead of Luca Filippi (Super Nova Racing), rookies Charles Pic (Piquet) and Giedo Van der Garde (iSport), DAMS Jerome d'Ambrosio, Roldan Rodriguez (Piquet) and Andreas Zuber (Racing Engineering). The Top 10 was completed by another rookie, Nico Hulkenberg at the wheel of the ART Grand Prix car. The top ten drivers were covered by just 0.998s.
Natacha Gachnang, driving the second Fisichella car, crashed on cold slick tyres in the afternoon session and therefore failed to improve on the time posted in the morning.
Tomorrow's session will start at 9.00 (local time) and will conclude testing for 2008. Heavy rain is anticipated for the entire day.
