NEWS STORY
While there were mixed emotions for those at the front of the field in Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix, let's not forget what was happening at the back, where David Coulthard, in his last F1 race, crashed out on the first corner of the first lap after getting entangled with those pesky Williams - ironically the team that brought him into F1 in the first place.
However, in the same way that Felipe Massa's misery meant joy for Lewis Hamilton and his fans, so too, Coulthard's early demise was to pay off for one particular Pitpass reader.
Of the many entries for our recent competition, whereby an Amalgam 1:1 Red Bull RB3 Steering Wheel was up for grabs, only (!) 94 entrants correctly predicted that David would qualify 14th.
However, if DC was "gutted" to be eliminated on the first lap, and thereby become the first, of only two, retirements, nobody expected the Scot to finish 20th in his final race.
Therefore, having predicted that the Red Bull veteran would finish 19th, and having correctly predicted his qualifying position, John Griffin from Worcester is our winner.
"It's truly a shame DC didn't go out with a better result," John told Pitpass, "but unfortunately, it's been the story of his season."
Commiserations to DC, but congratulations to John Griffin.
