With the clock ticking, following Max Mosley's request that the teams submit their own proposals for a new set of rules for the sport from 2011, the FIA President has repeated his call for the sport to provide a better image in terms of environmental issues and cost effectiveness.
In addition to his cost cutting initiatives, whereby he hopes to slash team budgets by as much as 50 per cent, Mosley is pushing towards a greener F1 which will, among other things, see improved fuel efficiency and the introduction of systems such as KERS.
"F1's chance of surviving and prospering is greater if it can demonstrate that it is useful to the world at large," he told the Financial Times.
