There's a rumour circulating to the effect that a second Honda team could enter F1, possibly as early as 2009.

It follows a visit to the Canadian GP by US engineer Ken Anderson, who is said to be trying to set up a Formula 1 team. Anderson was a guest of Honda.

According to reports Honda would be willing to provide engines, gearboxes and KERS, with the package being paid for by the north-American branch of Honda.

Anderson, who is due to meet Bernie Ecclestone later this month, having already met Ross Brawn and Nick Fry, is said to have the support of several big US investors, would like to enter F1 in 2009.

No mention has been made of Super Aguri and its facilities, and being a north American project it is most unlikely that the Leafield outfit is part of the equation. However, with many still believing that Honda turned its back on Super Aguri it remains to be seen how a deal involving a new project might be viewed, especially in Japan.

Anderson is best known for his work in CART and IRL, having worked with Penske, Chip Ganassi Racing and G Force, having helped set up Chip Ganassi Racing Ltd in Britain, which was to become G Force Precision Engineering. His F1 involvement includes work with Williams, Ligier and Onyx.
