Toro Rosso technical director Giorgio Ascanelli has revealed that the team's 2008 contender, the STR3, should make its race debut in Turkey, round five of the 2008 Formula One World Championship.
The Faenza based outfit will use an updated STR2, essentially the 2007 Red Bull chassis, for the opening races, before introducing the STR3 at next month's major test at Barcelona. Should the test go well, the car will make its race debut at Istanbul in mid May.
While Red Bull is confident that it has overcome the reliability problems that plagued it in 2007, particularly with regards the car's hydraulics and gearbox, there are fears that Toro Rosso will continue to suffer in the opening races.
