While the many Ferrari chassis for the fourth season of A1GP - and the maiden season of A2GP in 2009 - are being built on the south coast of England, it was interesting to note that members of the Maranello company were present at Durban over the weekend, for Round 7 of the third season of A1.
Mario Almondo, Operations Director at Ferrari, former Renault and Ferrari engine guru, Jean-Jacque His, and former F1 designer Rory Byrne, were all in attendance.
The deal, which will see Ferrari provide engines and chassis for the two series, is thought to be worth in excess of $100m, and will last through to 2014.
