While the rain continued to fall at Barcelona, conditions were much improved at Valencia, allowing BMW to carry out some serious work today. Though it was overcast for the morning, the sun did break through in the early afternoon before giving way to a light rain shower.
In the morning, the team, which had Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica on duty, did a full race simulation following the official time schedule and pre- race procedures of a race day.
On a damp track, following afternoon rain, Kubica and Heidfeld completed a race distance including several scheduled pit stops. Both BMW Sauber F1.08s covered the run without any technical problems.
In the afternoon, on a dry track, the team continued to work on the set-up of the car. Although ever changing air and track temperatures affected the programme, both drivers collected valuable data on aerodynamical and mechanical aspects of the new car.
The German team will continue here tomorrow, when Christian Klien will join his teammates for the first time.
