NEWS STORY
We hear that Super Aguri's SA08 monocoque was signed off for racing by the FIA yesterday (Thursday).
Further details were not forthcoming - despite all manner of bribes and cajoling - with a Super Aguri spokeswoman telling Pitpass that further details will be made available on Monday.
The 'sign off' is great news for the Leafield based outfit, and clearly indicates that despite all manner of speculation it will be on the grid in Melbourne in five weeks time.
In recent weeks there has been much speculation as to a possible buy-out of the team, which has thus far not confirmed its 2008 line-up, even though it is believed that Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson will be retained.
In 2007, Super Aguri used Honda's 2006 chassis, and for much of the season actually led its Brackley rival in the Constructors' Championship.
With the 2007 Honda having been "a pile of sh**" - Jenson Button's words - it remains to be seen what car makes up the SA08.
Either way, this is great news for the team and its many fans.
