The ART Grand Prix team has announced that Luca Filippi will join their GP2 team to partner Romain Grosjean in the 2008 championship season. This strong driver line up will put them in the best possible position in order to play a prominent role in both championships.
Luca Filippi: I'm really pleased because I tested with different teams thins winter and I enjoyed a lot the work we did together with ART Grand Prix. I found a very professional team and very motivated people. Everybody is working very hard and I think this is the most important thing you need to succeed.
I think that with my potential and the one of the team our aim has to be the title. My personal goal will be to fight for the wins in every single race weekend and I think that with my experience and with the help of the team we will be able to achieve that. It will be interesting to see how the new car runs and we'll have to do the best job as soon as for the first winter test. We need to work hard before the beginning of the championship to be in good shape for the first meeting.
Nicolas Todt: I'm extremely pleased we reached an agreement with Luca because he's a very talented driver, his approach is extremely professional and he has quite a lot of experience in the GP2 Series, which will be useful in aiming for the top step. Furthermore, to me he is the one who progressed the most in the series last year. With Luca and Romain I think we have a strong line-up that should allow us to set high ambitions for ART Grand Prix.
Fred Vasseur: The winter test we underwent with Luca convinced us he is the driver ART Grand Prix needs alongside Romain for the upcoming season when we'll have to get the maximum out of the new car. Luca has an excellent attitude both on the human side and at the sporting level. His feedback was impressive and accurate and his last season in the Series shows he has what it takes to fight for the best results.
