Nico Hulkenberg (right), who raced in the Formula 3 Euroseries this year, but first attracted attention when he won the second season of A1 GP for Team Germany almost single-handed, is to test for Williams at Jerez this week.
The British outfit, already the subject of considerable speculation as F1 insiders link McLaren with a possible swoop for Nico Rosberg, have yet to name a test driver for 2008 following the promotion of 2007 tester Kazuki Nakajima to a full race seat.
Hulkenberg, Formula BMW Germany champion in 2005, has already confirmed that he will remain in the Formula 3 Euroseries next season, having finished third in the 2007 series.
