While Flavio Briatore is paving the way for Fernando Alonso to make a speedy return to the French outfit with which he won his two titles, Red Bull is said to be preparing to make an audacious move which would see the Spaniard become part of the Austrian outfit's plans for a 'dream team', which would include former Ferrari Technical Director, Ross Brawn.

The Guardian claims "informed sources" believe the Milton Keynes outfit intends taking a further step towards the 'big league' by securing the services of Alonso and Brawn, two of the hottest talents in F1.

Although Brawn and Ferrari have always insisted that should the Englishman return to F1 it would be with the Maranello outfit, the fact that the team was able to win both titles without him suggests that there is life after Brawn. That said, there were a number of occasions this year when Brawn's strategic skills were clearly missed.

The signing of Adrian Newey, was clear indication that Red Bull is not in F1 simply to make up the numbers, and the presence of a championship winning driver and an ace strategist and Technical Director would be the obvious next step.

Earlier this year, Brawn was the subject of speculation regarding Honda, however, it is widely thought that the Englishman would only consider such a move were he to be given total control.

Other than a return to Ferrari, a move to Red Bull, where he would be given control of organization and tactics would surely appeal to Brawn, who would be tempted not merely by Dietrich Mateschitz' money but also by the challenge of lifting the team up to the 'next division'.
