Indian businessman Vijay Mallya has revealed that Spyker - which he, along with Michiel Mol recently bought from Spyker Cars NV - will race as Force India next season, with the cars known as Force Indias.
Speaking at Interlagos today the Indian told reporters: "We have applied to the FIA for a change in name of the company and the team from Spyker to Force India. I think that sums it all up as to why I am here."
He also revealed that the team's logo will incorporate the Indian flag.
Although Mallya is confident he will get the FIA's approval, claiming to have already had the nod from Bernie Ecclestone, this is subject to the existing teams approval, which should never be taken for granted.
Spyker is the latest incarnation of the Jordan team, which, following Eddie Jordan's decision to sell up a couple of years ago, morphed into Midland.
