For some time there has been speculation as to the future of Jean Todt, with many claiming that certain people within Ferrari want him out of the way in order to begin restructuring the team - out with the old, in the with the new - as it re-groups following Michael Schumacher's (enforced?) retirement.
Speaking at the weekend, Todt insisted that he had no intention of leaving, however, he admitted that circumstances might change and that he may well feel the need to move on.
Elsewhere, Luca di Montezemolo has been making all manner of outrageous claims, the most recent being that should Lewis Hamilton win the championship his title would be tainted, the Italian failing to point out his own team's numerous shortcoming's this season.
Bearing all this in mind, did anyone else feel, as they read Jean Todt's comments yesterday regarding Ferrari's achievements, that they were reading his farewell speech - his own epitaph as it were?
Call us cynical, but if ever the writing appeared to be on the wall, this was it.
