NEWS STORY
Nicolas Lapierre (DAMS) Winner - I'm very happy of my victory. Starting from pole position and winning the feature race on that difficult track is a very good result for me and for the team. I did an excellent race without any mistakes. The pitstop strategy was excellent as I increase the gap with the other competitors. The car was oversteering with the first set of tyres but balance was perfect after the pit stop. There are still three races remaining till the end of the championship, I wish to grab some more successes.
Luca Filippi (Super Nova International) 2nd - I didn't get the best start, and locked the front into turn one. The car was difficult to drive for the first 3 or 4 laps, but was still quicker than Adam as we came into the pit lane. The boys did a great job there! When the guys in front pitted on the following lap, & I was able to pass Di Grassi, so I was very happy! Towards the end there was a bit of over steer, but I was able to manage the car….The points are great for championship! Tomorrow we will have better traction, new tyres, & the chance to over take, so I'm confident it will great for the spectators!!
Lucas di Grassi (ART Grand Prix) 3rd - The start was good off the line. In the first part of the race I was quicker than Nico when he had some problems with oversteer and my car was really good. When we changed the tyres the car went too much understeer, but I had to manage the situation. After Adam went out I was at the same pace as Luca and running third. I decided to stay there and now I am six points off the championship lead and that was the main objective for this race.
Javier Villa (Racing Engineering) 4th - Things went quite well today. I made a good start and I was 7th at the end of the first lap and I began to push hard matching the pace of the leaders. At the end of race another 2 or 3 more laps and I could have been on the podium. I think I have a good chance tomorrow to be on the podium.
Mike Conway (Super Nova International) 5th - The choice to pit early was a good one and really worked out for us today, as I was able to pull ahead. Having the boys come out in front of me from the pits was good too, however I did lose a bit of grip, but all in all the pace was there. I hoping for a good start & first lap tomorrow, and then just try a pass get finish in the points again.
Kazuki Nakajima (DAMS) 22nd - I missed my start, stalling on the grid. Then, I pushed hard to regain the lost positions. The car was really well balance and I think I had good chances to challenge for fastest lap. As I was retired, I will start from the back of the grid tomorrow. The car should be quick and I will do my best to win places.
Marcos Martinez (Racing Engineering):23rd - A good race, I had good pace. I have been able to gain positions and when I was in 14th place I had a puncture in a radiator which forced me to retire. I hope that tomorrow it all goes well and at least I can finish the race.
Bruno Senna (Arden International) DNF - It's really frustrating to be fast and not finish the race. God knows what happened at the start because I have no idea why the car stalled. For some reason it took them ages to open the gates and push my car into the pitlane, and the race was gone then. I just went out after that to try and get the fastest lap. It's just the kind of race where there was nothing I could do, I was just at the back trying to make up ground. When I had the accident, I was just trying too hard. The tyres had gone away really badly but I was still pushing for a lap time. I got a bit of oversteer and then the camber changed. I just lost it and went into the gravel. Then I went into the tyre barrier, I didn't hit it hard, but that was the end. That's all I can say really.
