Following the decision to change the engine in Jenson Button's car, thereby demoting the English driver to the back of the grid, Honda has opted to change the powerplant on Rubens Barrichello's car also.
While Button's engine change was revealed by the team following yesterday's qualifying session, the change to his teammate's car was made public by a stewards announcement issued at 09.25 (local time) this morning.
Because neither driver officially posted a time in qualifying, Button will start ahead of Barrichello since the Englishman carries the number 7 on his car, while the Brazilian is number 8.
