Red Bull has officially confirmed that it has re-signed David Coulthard for 2008.
A brief statement issued this morning read:
"Red Bull Racing is pleased to announce that it has extended its contract with David Coulthard to the end of the 2008 Formula One season. This means the team's driver pairing for next year remains unchanged."
Coulthard, who entered with Williams F1 in 1994 following the death of Ayrton Senna, has contested 219 Grands Prix, winning 13 of them.
Should he continue in F1 in 2009, which considering his current form is quite likely, he could become the most experienced driver in the history of the Formula One World Championship, surpassing Riccardo Patrese's record of 256 GPs.
