While some are getting extremely hot under the collar regarding the proposed regulations for 2011, refusing to take on board the fact that they are merely proposals and therefore up for discussion, Ferrari's Jean Todt and Toyota's John Howett were asked their views on the latest proposals, issue earlier this week.
The two men attempted to calm fears by pointing out that there is still a long way to go.
"At the moment the only regulation we know for sure are 08, 09 and 10," said the Frenchman. "Eleven at the moment it is just part of proposals and ongoing discussions between FIA and the teams.
"It is always good to have a draft document," he continued, "and we are working very closely with out team colleagues and with the FIA but there is nothing yet decided about the 2011 rules."
"It is purely a discussion document," added Howett, "and we are waiting for a meeting to be held with the manufacturers' consultative committee to discuss openly the opinions and try to formulate the next level of conclusion from this preliminary proposal.
