Following an official examination of Robert Kubica, the Polish driver has been advised not to contest this weekend's United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis.
The BMW driver, who crashed heavily at Montreal last week, was examined by the FIA's own medial delegate Gary Hartstein and the Indianapolis Motor speedway's medical examiner Geoff Billows.
They advised against Kubica's participation in case he was involved in another accident.
Though the Pole was disappointed with the decision he accepted it. He may have to undergo a similar examination in two weeks time at Magny Cours.
Kubica will be replaced by 19-year-old Sebastian Vettel (right), who will be making his F1 debut. The German is the fourth youngest driver in the history of the Formula One World Championship.
