Former Honda test driver James Rossiter enjoyed his first day of work with his new team Super Aguri on Tuesday. The English youngster with the Japanese outfit's sole representative as it prepares for the forthcoming races in Monaco and Montreal.
Rossiter completed 128 laps of the Paul Ricard circuit, posting a best time of 1:08.026. Although 2.3s down on pace-setter Lewis Hamilton, the Englishman finished ahead of Scott Speed in the Super Aguri.
"It has been a great first day," said Rossiter, at the end of the session. "It felt good to be driving again having last driven in February and I thoroughly enjoyed it! After quickly getting to know the team and the car, we worked on finding good car balance and running with the Monaco wings in the morning. In the afternoon we did longer runs evaluating the tyre options for the next race and we had good reliability.
"The team is very professional and we worked well together," he added, "so overall it was a very good first day for me."
