A1 Team Ireland will be part of the GPLive event at Donington Park this weekend with John Watson carrying out demo runs on the Saturday and Sunday. This won't be the first time that Watson has taken to the track in the team's award winning car; he also got behind the wheel at Zandvoort at the beginning of the A1GP season.
GPLive is billed as the ultimate celebration of grand prix racing featuring the fastest cars with the greatest stars, celebrating the pinnacle of racing and showcasing classic and contemporary machinery.
The event will feature action on and off the track and visitors will enjoy a wide variety of motorsport and lifestyle activities and takes place from Friday 18 May to Sunday 20 May.
Several drivers will be present to sign autographs and speak to the crowds, including A1 Team GBR's Robbie Kerr, who famously became the first driver to win a race for his nation in the team's home race at Brands Hatch.
The public will also have a chance to become a mechanic for the day, and will get the opportunity to change a wheel on a real A1GP car.
Mark Kershaw, A1 Team Ireland CEO & Franchise Principal: "We're delighted to be representing A1GP and helping to promote the series. It's also great to have ‘Wattie' behind the wheel again at a fantastic event with so many other legendary drivers around. With our season over we're glad to be able to help introduce A1GP to fans of all types of grand prix racing by giving them the chance to see our car in action."
