Having been one of the only teams to run a third driver in the Friday sessions of the first Grands Prix of the season, BMW has chosen to change its policy.
Having previously announced that it would make a decision regarding its use of third drivers over Grand Prix weekend, Mario Theissen today revealed that the team would focus on its race drivers for the foreseeable future.
"Following the overseas races we have been looking closely at the driver line-up for the Friday of the GP weekends," said the German. "Until further notice, the two race drivers will be on track for the whole of Friday."
The announcement comes at a time when the German team is third in the constructors' Championship, courtesy of three consecutive fourth place finishes by Nick Heidfeld.
The German, who had been highly - and publicly - critical of his team's decision to run its third driver during GP weekends, today said that after three fourths he is targeting a podium result in Spain.
