It comes as no surprise to hear Ross Brawn admitting that if he does return to the pitlane it will be with Ferrari.
The Englishman, who has previously said that he will make a decision about his future this summer, has admitted that should he opt to return to F1 his first choice would be the team with which he won six Constructors' Championships and five drivers' titles.
Although he admits to having been contacted by a number of teams - an obvious reference to Honda - Brawn insists that he will not consider any other options until he knows what is happening with regards his former employers at Maranello. Should he and the Italian team fail to find a mutually acceptable solution, then, and only then, he insists, will he consider the alternatives.
The most likely scenario is that Brawn will take over as team boss of the Ferrari F1 team, allowing Jean Todt to concentrate on his other roles at Maranello. There are many who believe that in the first three races alone, Brawn's influence and expertise has been sorely missed on the Ferrari pit-wall.
Like Pitpass, many F1 insiders never took the Brawn-Honda scenario too seriously, since in many respects, other than a hefty pay-packet, the Englishman had nothing to gain from such a move, indeed, quite the opposite.
