For the penultimate race of the A1GP season A1 Team Netherlands again travels to China, to Shanghai this time.
After his race debut in the Mexico City Sprint race A1 Team Netherlands Rookie driver Renger van der Zande will drive the entire weekend this time. Jeroen Bleekemolen is driving the Racing for Holland Dome Sportscar together with A1 Team Netherlands team principal Jan Lammers, in the opening race of the Le Mans Series at Monza.
Though the battle for the World Cup could be decided in favour of Germany this race, the fight from the third place on is still wide open, with countries like France, Switzerland, Malaysia, Mexico and Netherlands still in the running.
For many drivers the Shanghai circuit will be a new track, only three names who drove the A1GP race there last year are present this time, Yoong Tocacello and Mikola.
Of course Renger van der Zande will do his very best in his first complete A1GP weekend behind the wheel of the orange A1 Team Netherlands car to make sure that the team will go to the season final at Brands Hatch with a good result.
"I am really looking forward to this weekend. I would like to thank Jan and Jeroen for giving me the opportunity to drive all the sessions and races this weekend. I am very fit and enormously motivated, so bring it on!. I travelled here early to prepare myself together with the team in the best possible way. It is a great series and Shanghai also is a nice track, very technical too".
